In early 2025, 9States Modular Building received a repeat order from a long-term Indonesian client—a mining company operating in East Kalimantan, Indonesia. This project called for 56 quick-assembly prefab container dormitory units to house mine workers at their remote extraction site.
What makes this project special is the relationship behind it: this is our fourth consecutive year working with this client. Their continued trust speaks volumes about the quality and reliability of our products in demanding industrial environments.
Unlike standard sanded boards commonly used in basic container floors, we installed PVC floor covering throughout each unit. PVC flooring offers superior durability, easier cleaning, and a more comfortable living environment—essential for workers spending extended periods at remote mining sites.
The exterior walls are constructed with rock wool sandwich panels, providing excellent fire resistance, thermal insulation, and soundproofing. This is particularly important in Indonesia's tropical climate, where daytime temperatures can exceed 35°C. The insulation keeps interiors cool and reduces energy consumption for air conditioning.
For bathroom areas, we used EPS sandwich panels with superior waterproof and moisture-resistant properties. This prevents common issues like mold, mildew, and panel degradation in high-humidity environments—a frequent problem in tropical mining camps.
