9States is proud to share a recently completed project for the Shanghai Xuhui District Urban Greening Management Company — a municipal office building constructed entirely from fast-assembly modular box units.
The building uses a staggered stacking layout where pairs of boxes are offset when placed on the second floor. This creates naturally shaded outdoor balcony spaces on both levels — a feature that dramatically improves the overall aesthetic compared to traditional container block stacking.
The wood-grain color-coated steel wall panels were custom-ordered to match the green landscape management company's identity, giving the building a warm and professional appearance rather than the typical industrial look of modular units.
An external staircase with a built-in canopy was also added, ensuring all-weather access between floors during Shanghai's rainy season.
This project demonstrates that modular construction is not limited to temporary worker camps or emergency housing. With the right design approach and customized finishes, fast-assembly box systems can deliver permanent-quality office buildings that are faster to build, more affordable, and every bit as visually appealing as traditional construction.
Whether you need a small site office or a large multi-story corporate building, 9States can design, manufacture, and install a solution tailored to your needs. Contact us today for a consultation.
